Alfie has been with us for 6 years and has been a massive part of our transformation, including the implementation of our 18s and 21s teams, which now form the pathway to our first team.
Whilst we are very disappointed to see Alfie go, it is done on fully amicable terms, and we wish him well for whatever he decides to do in the future.
The club will take the time between now and our early 2025 fixtures to confirm Alfie’s replacement.

Syd Birnie (Chairman) has stated “Alfie has been an inspirational leader over his term with us, assuming his first management role and driving forward the club pathway, which will be our lifeblood going forward. I cannot express enough my gratitude for his service, leadership, and friendship, and he will always be welcome at Ian Mair Park, no matter what he decides to do. Alfie leaves us in an incredibly strong position, still undefeated in the league this season and still competing in several cup competitions. I think he feels his “race is run” and I fully appreciate that, so it’s important now that we agree our strategy for his replacement and someone who can continue all the hard work that has been put in.”

Alfie also goes on record as saying “I’d like to express my thanks to the players (past and present) that have been part of my journey here at Dyce, the committee and particularly to Syd for all his support during my tenure. No matter where my future lies, Dyce will always be the first result I look for and I will be supporting them in their pursuit of the silverware they deserve.”

The club wish Alfie all the very best in the future and will keep everyone updated on whatever changes to the management / coaching team are to take place.
